100th Day Fun

February 7, 2016 By Blair Yohannan

100th Day FunThis week brought us the 100th day of school! The students have been bringing in their 100th day projects for the past couple of weeks, and then we celebrated the big day on Monday! Everyone’s projects were so creative and original! We saw everything from 100 chocolate chips, goldfish, stickers, and photographs to 100 feathers made into a snowy owl, and a snowman and Ra100 Days of Schoolpunzel’s castle made out of straws!

The children loved exploring their peers’ projects in the museum. Thank you so much for assisting your children in this project. The children had fun stringing 100 fruit loops onto a necklace, making 100th day hats, counting 10 groups of 10 snacks to make a bag of 100 snacks, and more activities that filled our day quickly! It’s hard to believe we have already been in school for 100 days!

100th Day hatIn circle time this week we also presented our 100th day projects and sang a fun 100th day song with, you guessed it, 100 words! As circle is a time for group discussion, the students shared some of the ways we can stay healthy during the cold, winter season. We discussed the importance of washing our hands, and covering our faces when we sneeze or cough to prevent the spread of germs. We also said that wearing warm clothing, drinking lots of water and eating healthy foods would help us to prevent sickness!

Kindergarten Time – 100th Day Coming Soon

January 31, 2016 By Blair Yohannan

100th dayIn anticipation of the 100th day of school on Monday, the Kindergarteners worked together to make a gum ball machine for each child with 100 gum balls each. Every child had one color that they put on the plate 10 times, we went around in a circle 10 times until each plate had 100 gum ball finger prints! This was a cooperative activity of counting by tens to reach 100! We also discussed 100 kind things we can do for our world and for others! We have greatly enjoyed the 100th day projects coming into school! Our museum is quickly filling up!
